How many Taekwondo classes per camp session will my child attend?

Every child will attend three Taekwondo classes per day, for a total of fifteen classes per camp session.

How many children will participate in each Taekwondo class?

All Taekwondo classes will consist of one instructor, two assistant instructors and no more than fifteen children. Your child will be attending classes with other children who possess the same level of experience in Taekwondo. For example, beginners will be taking classes with other beginners.

What other activities will my child participate in during camp?

Although Taekwondo is the primary focus of this camp, many other exciting activities will be available for your child. Activities can include: group games & challenges, crafts & cooking with an Asian theme, character building, learning how to deal with bullies, etc.

Will every session be identical?

No. All class schedules will remain constant throughout the 10 one week sessions, however Ahn Taekwondo's camp staff have planned a different selection of activities for each session.

Will my child be taking field trips?

No. Ahn Taekwondo is an exciting place to be. Ahn Taekwondo provides such a wide variety of fun activities that field trips are unnecessary. At Ahn Taekwondo you will always know where your child is.

Does martial arts training make students aggressive?

On the contrary. At Ahn Taekwondo, students are taught self-control and compassion. They learn that Taekwondo is not an act of violence, but the art of how to handle themselves in a problematic situation. Aggression should be channeled into assertiveness, to increase a student’s self-esteem and to build discipline and character.

Why do students bow when they enter the training floor?

The bow is a symbol of respect in Asian cultures and is just like a western handshake.

What are the chances of a student getting injured?

The chances of a student getting injured are very small, since all training is constantly supervised with safety in mind. Ahn Taekwondo is very well equipped (mats, etc.) and requires protective gear to be worn by all students during partner drills, which reduces the chance of injury even further.
