The Blue Ash location of Ahn Taekwondo Institute is pleased
to offer instruction in the art of Tai Chi – with Master Woodrow Fairbanks as
the instructor for the program. Master Fairbanks has been teaching martial
arts in the greater Cincinnati area for over 35 years and is a recognized
authority in this art form.
Tai Chi focuses on both the internal and external aspects
of the martial art. The slow, elegant movements of the meditative form are
combined with controlled breathing to create a balance between the mind, body,
and spirit of the practitioner. In addition to working all of the major muscle
groups and improving flexibility, the student also receives the benefit of
lowering stress.
As part of the Tai Chi classes, Master Fairbanks also
demonstrates the practical, or combat, application of the art. This is a
wonderful supplement to the standard Tai Chi programs offered at some of the
recreation centers. Even the least experienced student can benefit by learning
basic self-defense techniques.
Classes are held on Saturday afternoon from 12:00 noon to
2:00 p.m. No previous martial art experience is necessary to join the classes.
We are pleased to
announce that Grandmaster August O'Neal and his school, O'Neal's Taekwondo
Academy of Hayward, CA, have petitioned to join the UTA - and have been
accepted into our Association. Grandmaster O'Neal brings over 30 years of
martial arts experience to us.
Please visit Master O'Neal's website (www.onealstaekwondo.com)
to learn more about his school and instructors.
